Floral op-shop haul!

I majorly hauled at the op shop today. (Yes, I consider spending $25 a big deal.) I had a feeling I was going to finally get more nightgowns for cult party coordinates (I hadn't found any I liked since I bought my first 3 two months ago) and I did! Not only that, but I also stumbled upon two gorgeous spring pieces, a cute straw hat and a novel. Here's what I scored.

Floral dress - $12
(wait til you see it on!)

Bubblegum pink nightie - $3

Silk nightie - $2

Floral top - $5

Straw hat - $2

Memoirs Of A Geisha novel - $1

Now look at this damn dress. Gorgeous, right?? The print is kind of old-lady floral, but I'm in love with it anyway. $12 is a bit pricey for a thrifted dress but all the tags were still attached (including the spare button) and the original retail price read $49. I reckon this was a gift that someone didn't really like. Lucky me! I reckon with a petticoat, it could easily become a classic lolita piece. (it's also super soft!)

A more casual, yet still feminine outfit. The shirt sits a little big on me (a bit like a bag, doesn't hug me where it should) so I belted it. I love the almost doily-like trim on the collar and near the bottom. It's a soft, flowy top. Looks like it could be from Liz Lisa!

Isn't it funny how when I go thrifting everything I get seems to go together? Hahah. I'm really excited to incorporate these pieces into my wardrobe and put together more dolly kei and mori girl style coordinates rather than just fairy cult party that I've been stuck with. Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. ;)

Secretive Busy Bee.....

I've been putting off updating lately cause everything I've been up to is a bit...... in the works? Like I have to get photos developed or things need to be uploaded to youtube and such. But I feel bad for going out and doing stuff and not sharing, so here's a hasty little post for you all.

 Fan photo? Har har.

That's all you get for now! Teehee. Outfit posts and whatnot coming up in the next few days. Have any requests for what you want to see from me? YouTube videos maybe? Don't be shy! I'd love to share more and more with you all.

A Little Bit Pointless

Have you guys heard the preview to Light It Up by G-Dragon, Tablo and Dok-2? I'm ready to sustain major bootyshaking injuries. Anyhow.

Here's some evidence that I am a succubus. And some more photos that Ryan and I took the other day.

Hot Summah~

Shhh. I'm not supposed to be posting these. But I love you guys.
Beanie, jacket and shirt are vintage, glasses are from a party shop, skirt is Revival for Dangerfield, tights are Ambra for Myer, shoes can be purchased on eBay.

I think I was channeling Seto Ayumi with my outfit! It was interesting returning to this kind of pop kei/spank style after wearing predominately cult party for a few weeks.
Ryan (who took those photos) and I went to the op shop today because he had never been. And he scored! He got 3 CDs, 2 books and a denim jacket (quite similar to the one I scored on Tuesday, har har.) I got 2 books and a DVD.

I now own 5 Edward Norton DVDs! Not enough, obviously.
We also filmed a skit for his youtube channel which should be up sometime tomorrow. Exciting!
Busy day really, with shopping in multiple districts, a photo set and video filming (which was more difficult than it should have been!) I'm pooped, might even get to bed before 2am tonight. Tomorrow Adam's coming over and we're gonna chill out and do something silly like rice flour facemasks or something. Hah!

Watermelon Polka Dots

Today Adam and I went to our local shopping centre to get boba tea. I ended up buying some other stuff too, of course. Here's what I wore.

Jacket and dress are vintage, sunglasses are from Diva, bag is from Typo, accessories are all gifts, shoes are from Target

I bought two Essie nail varnishes, Maybelline Colossal mascara (damn they have a lot of mascaras, I picked this one because the packaging was yellow) and a pair of nude tights with black spots- basically my dream pair.

Watermelon milk tea with lychee jelly was a genius combination on my part. So tasty.
We spent the rest of the day watching To The Beautiful You (and by watching I mean screaming at the laptop because it's so funny). I'm happy.

Cult Party Kei and a Marvelous Return.

I think I need to start this post by admitting that I haven't posted in a damn long time. I mean, it's no secret, obviously, but I need to be honest about it. I can't just slip back into the habit of regular posting and act like I didn't disappear for a few months. And of course, as time does to people, I've changed a bit in my absence. I'll address the obvious - my hair is two shades of brown now, and I've started dressing in more fairy kei/cult party kei styles than the punky and dark keis I used to post about. I've been op shopping a lot and filling my wardrobe with pastels, lace and silk. It's healing my soul, I find. All these soft tones and textures.
I've also started to feel a bit different in the few months I've been aloof from blogspot. Highs and lows, the lows being a bit more prevalent, but in the past few weeks I've been getting passionate and excited about the things I enjoy again and I feel ready to keep happily pursuing my dreams and hobbies. It's tremendously good news.
That aside, let's talk about today's trip to the op shop and what I wore when I went there.

Everything is either made by me or vintage except the bag which was a gift and the stockings/socks/shoes which are from Myer and Target. I'm wearing two nightgowns over a baby pink nightie. The faux fur collar is made from a ski jacket hood.

The brown belt, bag and collar is my attempt at adding more mori girl influence into my coordinate, but I'm not entirely sure if it was successful or not.
Here's what I picked up at the op shop.

Beige ruffled shirt - $5

Denim jacket - $8
(badges are mine)

Spring dress - $5

And a super hasty outfit photo of the dress and jacket! I've wanted both a off-white lace dress and stonewash denim jacket for ages so I'm very happy with both these finds. I imagine I'm gonna sport them a lot throughout spring and summer. Acid wash denim was hugely popular in Japan this year during their spring, so I'm hoping it's a thing here too. The ruffled beige shirt is more for future mori girl and cult party coords rather than casual wear.

Tonight Adam and I are going to go see Moonrise Kingdom (yep, it only just released in Australia) which I'm super excited about becaus a) Edward Norton b) Wes Anderson c) we're probably gonna get frozen yoghurt after. I think green tea frozen yogurt with white tim-tams is my favourite dessert right now.

The only other thing I feel I can update you on is that I've become hugely hooked on Korean music and dramas. I've been staying up til 1am waiting for G-Dragon to release singles off his new solo album and refreshing like mad waiting for new episodes of To The Beautiful You. I love it all so much that I'm thinking about possibly taking a Korean language course in the near future.

Til next time, fair winds and stuff. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to make a proper post again. I hope to be back to posting fairly regularly from hereon in. As always though, no promises. Har har.
